Sanyo VTC-5000 Betamax Video Recorder / Player (PAL)

£159.95

This is for one tested and working VTC-5000, which was (in my humble opinion), the most reliable and well built machine made on the Betamax format. It’s a controversial statement, but having serviced hundreds of Betamax machines, it’s always the VTC-5000 that needs the bare minimum amount of replacement parts. This machine is fondly remembered by most collectors, as just about everyone had one, or you knew someone who had one (or a Sony C7). They were smaller, lighter, and built with reliability in mind compared to most other models.

The VTC-5000 doesn’t wrap the tape around the heads when it re-winds or fast forwords, so the heads in these machines seldom wear. They don’t have a complicated eject mechanism to fail (as a lot of Sony’s did). The power supplies were well made, and don’t suffer from as many problems as the Sony alternatives.

This has all the required modifications, and servicing done. It’s also had new belts.

.

Postage can damage these fragile machines easily, so collection is from Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Postage could be possible, although it would be by specialist courier services.

We have a number of Sony and Sanyo Betamax machines breaking for parts. Some are complete and working and some have faults. Please enquire for details.
